This auction is for a Danbury Mint 1960 FORD THUNDERBIRD COUPE in 1:24 scale. This is a VERY RARE car, and it is highly sought after. They are not easy to find, especially completely intact, and in this excellent condition. This is one of those rare few! And this car appears to have NEVER BEEN DISPLAYED! It even still has the clear vinyl strips protecting the chrome foil scripts and rear louvers, and the round one that keeps the sunroof from shifting in shipping, as well as the white paper straps within the hood and trunk! It is in EXCEPTIONAL condition! This model is absolutely gorgeous in every way! There are no notable flaws! This car looks spectacular, and is truly stunning! The paint is in marvelous condition! The gorgeous Monte Carlo Red paint is deep and glossy! It does not appear to have any of the awful paint and metal fatigue issues that seem to plague these particular diecasts, and again, it is in superior condition! There is the barest hint of some very faint paint rash here and there, but it is nothing obvious, and what little there may be is so minute and difficult to see, that it is barely noteworthy. This color is so beautiful, and really complements this elegant classic automobile. This one is truly fantastic in every way! Both doors open and close without issue. The hood and trunk likewise open and close without issue, and stay open on their own. The chrome is in great condition, and really shines. The front wheels turn and pivot with the steering wheel, and the tires and chassis are in really nice shape. The interior is nice and clean, and all the windows are clean and clear. In fact, in total, this is a very clean car, both inside and out! All of the parts are present and function as they should. There is nothing broken or missing from the car, and again, it really looks super! The details are superb! The chrome foil scripts on both doors are intact and exquisite, and are again, are even still protected by their clear vinyl strips! They look sensational! Likewise, the louvers on the rear fenders, all of which are intact (a somewhat rare state on these, which are notorious for shedding the stick-on louvers!), also protected by their clear strips, and in pristine condition! The car has a really cool feature, in that the sunroof is fully functional, and opens and closes! This also still has its clear protective covering! Within their clear protective pack are the spare tire and the opening tool, and they appear to have NEVER BEEN REMOVED! The opening tool is used to open the hood and trunk, whose seams have such an excellent fit that you actually need this tool to have access to the inside! Fingernails are not thin enough for these openings! This model will display beautifully, and it really is a very striking looking car! Again, this car is magnificent in every way!
