1857 Dated Model 1840 Cavalry Saber by Ames Manufacturing of Cabotville with scabbard (missing throat). The ricasso is marked “AMES MFC CO CHICOPEE MASS” on one side and “U.S J.H 1857” on the other. One branch in the handguard is broken. The blade is in good condition and the leather grip is also in good condition. The blade is 36 inches long. The leather grip handle is 5 3/4 inches long. The sword is 41 3/4 inches long total. Sword with Scabbard is 42 3/4 Inches long. Please look at the pictures. If you have any questions then send me a message. Thanks for looking.
